Qualcomm Guarantees Support Android Oreo (Go Edition)

Qualcomm has guaranteed that it will launch entry-level chipsets specially designed to run Android Oreo (Go Edition) as well as optimise existing chipsets to support the new light-weight operating system, starting early 2018.

The chipmaker added that its joint efforts with Google will provide for “consumer flexibility” i.e. it will allow them to run the latest version of Android despite low-end or outdated specifications. Qualcomm suggested that it will begin updating support for its existing chips as soon as Google outlines the details of Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
