Your WhatsApp Profile Pictures will Soon be Stored on Facebook’s Servers

In a year where WhatsApp has already started sharing a lot of user data with its parent company Facebook, Wabetainfo is now reporting that the instant messaging application will now also start storing users’ profile pictures on Facebook’s servers.

No matter how logical (or otherwise) this may sound, and while WhatsApp mentions that this won’t make a difference to the end-user, the point remains that pictures hosted on Facebook’s servers will most likely fall under Facebook’s data usage policies instead of WhatsApp’s; so while the change might not make a visible difference at the user-end, it most likely changes quite a lot of things on the back-end.
